2015 Pride

The annual Phoenix LGBTQ Pride Festival is Saturday, April 11th through Sunday, April 12th!  Trans* Spectrum of AZ will once again have an informational booth at the Pride Festival both days.  This was a huge success for our organization last year!  It is a great opportunity for TSAZ to represent the Trans* community in a visible way at Pride.  The other purpose is to provide much needed outreach to Trans* people who don’t yet know about the resources that TSAZ offers, and to survey Trans* people and allies about what types of resources they need.  Furthermore, we will provide information to the LGBQ population about the Trans* community and Trans* identity.

The Pride Parade is on Sunday, April 12th!  TSAZ marched in the parade for the first time last year and had over 50 marchers in our contingent!  Once again, we will ask all of our marchers to wear a TSAZ t-shirt (available for pre-order here), sign a participation form, and show up at our rallying point one hour prior to the start of the parade.  We will march behind a TSAZ banner and will be led by our amazing and inspiring TSAZ Youth Group.  We will once again have a truck with music, signs and dancers.

We have two T-Shirt options available:

  • 2014 “Proud to be…” design in a synthetic blend, available in Adult sizes M-XXL. ($8-$9). Order here
  • 2015 Pride design created by TSAZ youth member in high quality 100% Cotton, available in Child S-L and Adult S-4X ($9-$12). Order here Please note that design is still TBD, so the design listed in the marketplace at this time is not reflective of what the t-shirt will look like.
  • Pre-ordered t-shirts available online are at a discount.
  • If you are a TSAZ member with a financial need attending Pride, please contact info@transspectrum.org to request a discount.

Join in the Fun!

JJ is a gender non-conforming and gender fluid person who blurs the gender boundaries that our society rigidly imposes upon people. “I consider myself bi-gender because I feel I am both John and Jennifer and live my life going back and forth between genders. I am a blend of both genders and a two-spirited person. Living an authentic life and completely expressing both my male and female selves is essential to my happiness and self-realization.”
